- Saylor founder and CEO Will Trowbridge will lead the combined company.

Shamrock Capital has made an eight-figure investment in the social-first agency Saylor, securing a majority ownership stake in the five-year-old company, the private equity firm announced Wednesday.
Once the deal closes, Saylor will merge with Mutiny, a gaming-focused creative agency that already sits in the Shamrock portfolio, according to Saylor founder and CEO Will Trowbridge. The combined company will operate under the Saylor name, and Trowbridge will lead it.
Trowbridge framed the merger as a bet that brands now need deeper emotional connection from their audiences, not just reach.
"Brand fandom has become a need-state, not a nice-to-have," Trowbridge said. "We have the opportunity to build what we think of as an obsession engine for brands—an integrated creative company designed for brands that want actual fans, not just followers."
The deal signals how private equity continues to consolidate specialist creative shops, pairing Saylor's social-first capabilities with Mutiny's gaming expertise under a single owner. For Shamrock, the move builds out a marketing services holding built around audience engagement rather than traditional media services.
For Trowbridge, who founded Saylor five years ago, the majority sale and merger mark a shift from independent operator to platform builder. The combined entity will pitch brands on turning passive audiences into committed ones—an offer aimed squarely at marketers under pressure to prove loyalty, not just impressions.
