Monica + Andy has placed its first baby-care line in more than 1,400 Walmart stores and on Walmart.com — the brand's biggest category move since it launched in 2014.
The rollout happened within the past month. The range covers five products:
- 2-in-1 baby shampoo and body wash
- Bedtime cream
- Balm
- Soap
- Gentle baby laundry detergent
All five are also sold on Monica + Andy's direct-to-consumer website, giving the brand both mass shelf space and its owned channel from day one.
Why does this expansion matter?
More than a decade in, this is Monica + Andy's first large-scale push beyond its core assortment. The company started in 2014 as a DTC kids' clothing brand with one signature point of difference: certified organic cotton.
Since then, it has widened the closet, not the category. The brand added a maternity collection and Mommy + Me matching sets to its lineup before now.
Baby care is a different game. It moves the company from apparel — where organic cotton was the trust signal — into formulated products like shampoo and detergent, where ingredients and safety claims carry the weight.
In plain terms: a clothing brand just bet its name on bottles, not just fabric.
What does the Walmart deal signal?
The distribution choice is the story's hardest number. Over 1,400 Walmart stores is mass-retail scale, not a boutique test.
For a brand built DTC, that shift matters twice over. It puts Monica + Andy in front of shoppers who never visit its website, and it runs alongside — not instead of — the direct channel.
That dual-track launch mirrors a wider pattern among digitally native brands: use wholesale for reach, keep DTC for margin and customer data.
The takeaway is simple. Monica + Andy is using Walmart's footprint to make its first category bet count at scale.
Where does the brand go from here?
The product set suggests a full bedtime-and-bath routine rather than a single hero SKU — wash, cream, balm, soap and detergent work as a basket, not as one-off purchases.
If the line lands, it gives the 11-year-old brand a repeat-purchase engine that apparel, bought seasonally and sized out of, rarely provides. The Walmart placement will be the first real test of whether the Monica + Andy name stretches from cotton to cream.
