Absolut has signed a two-year partnership with Charli XCX, the pop star behind the 2024 album Brat and this year's Music, Fashion, Film. Pernod Ricard's vodka brand confirmed the deal on Oct. 20 after teasing it at the singer's Los Angeles shows over the weekend.
The collaboration will include limited-edition drops, collectible items, custom glassware and fan events. That is the full extent of what Absolut has disclosed so far. No financial terms, no launch dates for specific products and no market list have been released.
The rollout began as a stage tease. At Charli's Los Angeles shows, the words "ABSOLUT XCX" flashed across the screen while some of her dancers wore shirts reading "I ♥️ Absolut." Absolut and the artist then revealed the partnership on Oct. 20 with black-and-white photos posted on social media showing Charli backstage, wearing the same shirt and drinking a dirty martini.
What does the deal actually cover?
Four elements, according to the announcement:
- Limited-edition drops
- Collectible items
- Custom glassware
- Fan events
Each item points toward merchandising and experiential marketing rather than a conventional celebrity endorsement spot. Whether any of it translates into sustained volume for a vodka brand competing in a soft spirits category is the question Absolut has not yet answered.
The two-year term is notable. It signals a commitment beyond a single campaign cycle, but it also locks the brand to a cultural moment — the "brat" phenomenon of 2024 — whose commercial shelf life remains untested over that horizon.
Why Charli XCX?
The singer's 2024 album Brat became a cultural shorthand that brands have chased since its release, and her 2025 multi-format output — Music, Fashion, Film — extends her reach across categories that mirror Absolut's merchandising plans. The backstage martini imagery positions her as a consumer, not just a paid face.
What Absolut has not said is how it will measure success: no sales targets, no campaign metrics, no statement from either party on the partnership's commercial goals. The announcement is imagery and product categories, nothing more.
The fan events carry the most weight. They give Absolut direct access to an audience that media buying alone struggles to reach, and they fit a trade pattern where spirits brands increasingly compete on experiences rather than shelf presence.
The first limited-edition drops will show whether the partnership can convert cultural buzz into repeat purchases — the only test that matters for a two-year commitment.
