NBC News has named Carson Daly co-anchor of Saturday Today, beginning Saturday, November 7, in a move that extends his duties at the network to six days a week. Daly keeps his weekday morning role and joins co-anchor Laura Jarrett, feature anchor Joe Fryer, and meteorologist Angie Lassman on the Saturday desk.

"I'm thrilled to add Saturday Today to my weekday morning schedule," Daly said.

Daley joined Today in 2013 as host of the Orange Room. He fills the seat vacated by Peter Alexander, who left the program in March and departed NBC News after more than 20 years to join MS NOW.

What does the CNBC reorganization change for producers and correspondents?

CNBC has signed a new long-term agreement with Jim Cramer that includes a premium subscription tier of his CNBC Investing Club, set to launch in 2027.

The network also restructured its dayside programming and editorial operations. Todd Bonin, vice president of programming and senior executive producer, will lead Business Day from 5 a.m. to noon ET. Sandy Cannold, vp of programming and senior executive producer, will oversee programming from noon to 6 p.m. ET.

The moves ripple through the lineup:

  • Jason Gewirtz moves to the Digital Control Room.
  • Anne Tironi continues to oversee Squawk Box; Lisa Villalobos will manage all three hours of Squawk on the Street. Both report to Bonin.
  • Maria Boden adds Fast Money to her leadership of Closing Bell: Overtime.
  • Matt Quayle leaves his senior executive producer role on The Exchange and Power Lunch for a new post focused on content development across platforms.

On the newsgathering side, Lacy O'Toole, vp and managing editor, adds the Specials unit to her responsibilities. All correspondents will now report directly to her, except those aligned with the strategic verticals led by Max Meyers. Washington, D.C.-based correspondents will report to MC Wellons; San Francisco-based correspondents will report to Christina Passariello. The Investigations unit now falls under Ken Brown, with Scott Zamost and Paige Tortorelli reporting to him.

How is MS NOW building its brand and reach?

MS NOW has launched a brand campaign titled "Now There's More That Unites US." The network says the campaign drew inspiration from "the groundswell of participation, with millions of individuals making their voices heard, standing up for what they believe in."

The network also expanded its direct-to-consumer MS NOW Membership to connected TV platforms, including Roku, Apple TV, Samsung, Google TV, and Amazon Fire TV. Members can now watch the 24/7 live linear feed without a cable subscription and stream full episodes of all MS NOW programs on demand.

Two new arrivals in TV news families

Fox News' Peter Doocy and CNN's Abby Phillip both welcomed new children. Doocy's fifth child, Molly Kate Doocy, arrived on October 22. Phillip's second child, Maxwell Elias Richardson, was born October 27.

For practitioners, the week's pattern is clear: networks are consolidating anchor workloads, sharpening editorial reporting lines, and pushing subscription and streaming products onto every major TV platform.
